Ms. Jessica Oxendine’s previous teaching experience includes all levels of Spanish at the Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia. A native of Lima, Peru, her scholarly and teaching interests are mainly in the areas of Linguistics and Language Acquisition, as well as Spanish culture as it relates to language use. She has been a strong advocate and supporter of the literary contributions of Hispanics in the United States and served as co-editor of the Hispanic Culture Review at George Mason University.

She is a current member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) and Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Language (NECTFL).
